When you think you have seen it all, this comes along. A breathtaking and unexpected art deco design from Patek Philippe. This ultra thin pocket watch has a lot of impressive details. It has a 44mm pink gold case with its original brushed finish which is contrasted by a white gold bezel. The crown has a smooth finish, which is very unusual as it would almost always be executed with ridges to enable easier winding. But this is the sort of object where beauty goes before all else. The crown is also executed in pink gold to match the case. Then the dial, which is highly unusual for Patek Philippe and more reminiscent of Breguet. It is a solid yellow gold hand guilloche dial with enamel filled numerals. The play of light is incredible on this dial. To finish things off there is ornate blued steel hands that contrast beautifully with the gold dial. Inside is a top condition manual winding ultra thin movement. Judging by the hallmarks, the watch was originally delivered to England. It comes with the extract of the archives to confirm the manufacture in 1929 and sale of the watch in 1942.
