The Bulova Accutron Alpha in 14k white gold
In 1960 the first models of the revolutionary Bulova Accutron were launched. The accutron watches run on a tuning fork mechanism. This can be seen as one of the first baby steps in electronic watchmaking. The design matches the revolutionary movement perfectly. The asymmetric white gold case looks like something straight out of a sci-fi movie. A statement was made by placing the crown on the case back. It was no longer needed on a daily basis to wind your watch. The movement is exposed on the front, showing the internal structure of the movement. This brings the watch to life. As there is no dial to read the time, the clever minds at Bulova put the brand name and model as well as the hour and minute division on the crystal. This Bulova Accutron Alpha in 14k white gold is unlike anything else in the market. This is watchmaking history for the taking. Everyone will be asking you what time it is.
The Bulova Accutron will be relaunched by Bulova this year, you can read more about it here.
