Sometimes it is the simplest watches that leave the strongest impressions. This Rolex that was especially produced for the UK market in 1961. It is so basic that to me it is close to perfection. The perfect balance between the robustness of the oyster case and the class of yellow gold. Another thing the watch has going for it, is perfect symmetry, as the reference 6462 does not have a date window. The leaf hands and fancy dart markers compliment the glossy cream dial. Add a blued steel central second hand to that and you have a winner. The absence of luminous radium enabled the dial to survive in excellent condition.

The case is produced in 9k yellow gold for the english market and has not been polished. It has a acquired a warm deep yellow patina. The watch comes on a gorgeous brown handmade strap. It is a full set, including its original box and paperwork.
