This might be the ultimate 1940’s chronograph. Gu belin is known for its incredible quality pieces and this one is no exception. The black dial is seemingly unique and combined with the white text and hands it offers a unique and minimalistic look. The dial is flawless and has a fantastic glossy finish. The watch bears the traditional E. Gübelin Lucerne signature, which is stunning. The condition of the 35mm staybrite case is outstanding. Super sharp and unpolished, with nice thick and angular lugs. The teardrop pushers and rounded original crown finish the look. Inside is a gorgeous unmolested valjoux caliber 84, running strong. The watch comes on its original strap, with a very cool buckle. The strap is very dry and brittle, but it is a testament to the originality of the piece. This is the sort of piece you can only buy once. No more words are needed here, it is perfect.
