This is an incredibly rare model by chopard from 2004. In its appearance the watch feels more like a 1940’s gentleman wristwatch. Very classy sizing at 32mm across. Super interesting case design with ribbed case sides. The crown is executed in actual gold, which we almost never see, especially not in modern watchmaking. There are some post war french case wristwatches that also use gold crowns that were formed by hand. This seems to be an hommage to that craftsmanship. The level continues in the rose gold sunburst finished dial that is a perfect match to the case. With its subdial at 6 and blued steel hands the watch has a traditional feel to it. Eszeha is a case manufacturer that worked closely with Chopard for several decades. This watch was a celebration of that collaboration as both turned 100 years old in 2004. I would not be surprised if the watch is based of an historic case the company produced .
This incredible piece offers an opportunity to wear a highly unusual 1940’s inspired wristwatch while relying on modern technology. In addition you will be quite sure not to meet a person with the same watch.
