Baume Mercier car watch

This must be the most unusual watch we have ever encountered. It was created for Baume et Mercier by Werner Rutschi (Key Hallmark 7) in Geneva. The piece was most likely produced in the late 1940’s. It is a car brooch containing a manual winding watch. This brooch in turn can be mounted on to a gold trailer which converts it to a wristwatch. The level of craftsmanship is unbelievable. The piece has been made in yellow gold, and the headlights and grill are produced in white gold for contrast. In addition the rear lights are actual rubies. The watch comes on a pigskin strap. We always look for the unknown, and this was quite the discovery. If you would like to know more, please get in touch.
