This AP Jules Audemars white gold Japan limited edition was made to celebrate 125 years of AP on the Japanese market. It is an incredibly elegant dress watch that brilliantly shows the design language of the year 2000. It is basically the Calatrava reimagined. A no nonsense time only watch with a beautiful two tone dial, applied indexes and logo, baton hands and sub seconds at 6. The watch has a very nice rounded profile which is accentuated further by the curved sapphire crystal. Sized at 36mm it really hits the sweet spot for people familiar with vintage watches. To finish things off there is a very nice rounded signed AP crown.
When the watch is turned over you see the perfectly finished caliber 3090. Furthermore there is hand engraving on the unpolished case to commemorate 125 years of AP. The movement looks perfect and is running very well. Winding it is as smooth as it gets.
The watch comes on a handmade cement colored goatskin strap with curved lugs to hug the watch case, it has quick release lugs so the strap can be easily changed. The strap matches the watch beautifully in our opinion. The watch has the rare white gold AP deployment clasp, which most of them do not have.
