About me

I come from a family where a passion for vintage and antiques runs through the veins.

Since I could walk I have been present on flea markets and fairs, where my uncles would be exposing their items. As my brothers, my sister and I got a little older, we would help them every weekend. Up early to try and sell the items on display.

It didn’t take long for a strong personal interest in all things vintage to develop. The main areas of focus were art deco design and mid-century modern items. The search and research would be never ending and not many days would go by without visiting thrift shops or markets.

Then, when I was around 14 years old, I found a mechanical watch at a local flea market. I was so intrigued by it. The fact that something so old would come back to life as soon as you would wind the crown was unbelievable. Another thing that took me by surprise is that there was this entire movement inside made up of many, many parts that needed nothing but manpower to run for a full day. Then there is the attention to detail, and how these details would fit the time period in which the watch was made. The elegance when opposed to the modern wristwatches I had seen was just amazing. For me these old products were far superior to the new battery operated watches I had seen.

I bought the watch and thought that my interest would wear off as soon as I understood how they worked and the different sorts that existed. It was a rabbit hole far deeper than I could have imagined. As I studied something, it would only lead to new questions. I also found out that there were hundreds of people just like me spread across to globe. All trying to make sense of the infinite amount of knowledge hidden in the world of watches.

Since then I have met lots and lots of people who I can now call friends. More than 15 years and countless conversations, books and deals later, I am still learning new things on a daily basis. Parallel to my passion for watches I got a master’s degree in economics. But by the time I finished my studies, the attraction of the vintage watch world had become too strong.

So, in 2018 I decided to go into watches full time, and I couldn’t be happier that I did. Since then I have sold hundreds of watches worldwide. My focus is on unusual vintage watches in exceptional condition. Lately I have also turned to the so-called neo-vintage watches. I do not get pinned down by certain brands or models. I buy what I like, and deal with people that have similar taste. The one watch I really want is the one I have never seen before, and that is what keeps me going.

I would like to get to know you, so feel free to start a conversation!
