The reference 17011 is one of the rarest Cartier Tank models produced. It is bigger than the traditional model, however it is not as big as the jumbo reference 17002. It is therefore nicknamed the mini jumbo. Where the jumbo can clearly be specified as oversized, this model feels more like the traditional model but slightly enlarged. It’s dimensions are 33,5 x 25,5, while the standard size would be 24x30mm.
The watch is produced in yellow gold and has the iconic enamel roman numeral dial that make Cartier instantly recognizable. Furthermore it features a so called ‘Chemin de Fer’ minute track and blued steel sword hands, and ofcourse the sapphire set crown. This particular model features an automatic movement. By creating a small bubble on the caseback, the small case profile could be maintained. This watch has been produced in very low numbers and to find one in this condition is very rare. The watch comes on a vintage inspired pig skin strap handmade in Italy by the best artisan in the business. In addition there is the gold ardillon buckle.
