Sometimes a watch simply ticks all the boxes, regardless of the brand name on the dial or its price point. We have had a lot of super compressor watches from the 1960’s over the years. There is a large variety among them. Different brands would all select different dials, hands and colours for their super compressors. This must be one of the most beautiful ones we have ever offered for sale. The black dial with evenly aged lume, arabic numerals and a caramel patina on the bottom is to die for. The handset is very interesting, with the large triangle hour hand and a substantial baton minute hand. It has central seconds which are clearly visible under all circumstances. The inner rotating silver gilt minute track is beautiful and functions as it should.
The case is unpolished and comes in very sharp original condition, of course complete with its two characteristic cross hatched crowns. The roulette date wheel is another interesting feature. Inside is an automatic ETA movement in perfect condition. The strap is still the original and incredibly rare tropic strap with steel buckle. A super watch for any vintage purist. This is what an unmolested super compressor watch looks like.
