This is a rare blancpain villeret time only reference 7001-1418-55 in exceptional condition. The 33,5 mm yellow gold case has never been polished and has developed an incredible patina on the gold. We see this as an updated version of a classic 1960’s dress watch for modern times. It’s slim case profile and flat mineral crystal create a minimalistic look. The glossy white dial with feuille hands and applied gold roman numerals show the quality of the craftsmanship at Blancpain. Of course the watch is complete with its original crown and buckle. It also comes with its original box and outer box. The icing on the cake here is that it is production number 1 of this model. This is exceptionally rare to find and is a nice bonus for its new owner
Inside is the manual wound caliber 64-1.The 64-1 is based on one of the last of a long line of Peseux handwound calibres, the 7001. At 10 1/2 lignes and 2.5mm thick, it runs at a stately 21,600 vph beat rate. In making it suitable for their use, Blancpain completely reconstructs the top plate elements, and finishes every detail to perfection. The attention lavished on this movement results in a price point reserved for first tier watches.
